Asset records
Hardware details for every device: processors, memory, storage, displays, graphics and installed software.
Case study
IT asset management and help desk ticketing that replaced Excel-based device tracking.
Diagram Construction · 14 sites including head office · 100+ users
Diagram Construction runs 14 sites including its head office, with more than 100 users. Every device was tracked in Excel, so there was no reliable way to know what hardware existed, who had it, what software and licenses it used, or what maintenance it needed. Support requests had no shared system either.
I built Core IT, a single bilingual web system that holds every asset with its hardware details, its assignment history and its maintenance, alongside a full help desk. It covers the whole lifecycle: requesting a device, assigning it, maintaining it, counting it in stock-takes and reporting on it.
Hardware details for every device: processors, memory, storage, displays, graphics and installed software.
Assign assets to employees, a "My devices" view for each user, and asset requests.
Maintenance records and schedules, asset health events and spare-part movements.
Licenses and seats, consumables, kits and orders, and suppliers.
Stock-takes with scanning and printable labels, organised by locations, departments and device types.
Telecom lines, bills and readings.
Ticketing with categories and owners, comments, escalations, steps and time entries, plus tasks and internal chat.
Roles and permissions and a full audit log.
Reports and exports, and bulk import to bring existing data in.
API tokens, webhooks and a device discovery agent.
I built Core IT on my own while working in IT at Diagram Construction: gathering the requirements from daily support work, designing the data model, and developing the back end and front end. Because I also run the company's infrastructure and support, I use the system in the same work it was built for.
Tell me about your project and I will get back to you soon.
